After reading all the positive reviews I had high hopes for this collar. We are going to be traveling with our kitten soon and wanted to buy her a collar so she can get used to it before the trip. I looked at several collars, read reviews etc and decided that this Pettsie collar would be the best fit for our 5 month old kitten. Not to mention that he is very cute. On the day of arrival I fitted it to her and followed her for an hour because at first she wasn't sure if it was worth wearing. To my surprise, she responded very well in a short time, but then the problems started. She was able to wrap her lower jaw around part of the collar and get stuck completely. I had to untie the collar (which isn't that easy) to free her. Then I noticed that the plastic part of the collar used to adjust the size had slid down quite a bit making the collar larger which apparently caused it to be able to catch the jaw. I refitted it and tugged it a little tighter and again the plastic part slid down and I found her a second time with her jaw stuck. To get this to work I tried a third time but it happened again. The plastic piece on the collar obviously slides too easily and won't stay in place after the collar is adjusted. I should add that I have had dogs and cats all my life and know how to fit/adjust the collar so this is not "user error". I am outraged and disappointed, especially since I paid so much for this collar. I'm not sure if that's how they're made or if this one was defective, but either way I can't allow our kitty to get hurt or worse.
