Missing parts, otherwise good value for the wearer

Mine came without a power cord (easy to replace with a standard PC power cord) or remote control (couldn't find an exact replacement online). The protective packaging has already been removed and placed in the corner of the foam spacer. Can it be a used model? It was not sold as such. Inside the box was a Displayport cable, and inside the plastic bag that probably once contained the remote and batteries was an obvious manual. However, the panel appears intact with no dead pixels and I don't want to mess with returning this Β£45 box as the remote and power cord are missing. This panel has excellent black levels (surpassed only by OLED) with no black smearing. together with VA panels, even without overdrive. It also has a very high maximum brightness, and I don't doubt the reviews that claim it puts out 700 nits (better than many screens that claim HDR support that can't put out 400 nits). I bought mine for $500 which overall seems like a great value even with the missing parts. Caveats: 60Hz refresh rate only, weird grainy art and text fringing likely due to the BGR subpixel layout. I heard panel rotation can solve the subpixel problem (change BGR->RGB). It didn't remove the weird graininess, so maybe it's anti-reflective film or something. It can be used for office tasks, but games and movies are undoubtedly its main assets. Also, parts may be missing from the packaging, although there is a joystick on the back to control the OSD and the power cord is easy to replace. Good luck finding the exact replacement model for your remote control.

Pros
  • Fast 1ms response time and 144Hz refresh rate
Cons
  • Low maintainability
