These candles look great lit or unlit. Simple and easy Halloween decor for sure. The added timer functionality is essential for all battery powered lighting fixtures in my opinion. My biggest complaint about them is that they destroy batteries. I put new batteries in my set of three batteries with the timers set and all three batteries started to run out after two weeks...TWO WEEKS. I have a similar, more expensive timer candle that runs on just two AA batteries and lasts almost three months before I have to change batteries. And with the timer on. These candles need three batteries and are so full so quickly? no The cost of the battery just isn't worth it unless you have a surplus of rechargeable AAA batteries. They should be recycled in the energy department or something because something was done wrong.
