There are dozens of 'brands' and sizes of these melanite sponges and I'm not sure if there's a huge difference between them, but I ran out of the other big pack I had so I thought , I'll try this one. They are slightly larger than some other brands. Since they fall apart as you use them, it's good to have a larger size if you do more than just spot cleaning. I took one out of the box to compare to another type I was using. I used it to clean grout between ceramic tiles in my bathroom. This is really great work. Since I used my fingertips to get between each tile, the sponge also filed my nails in the process - LOL Yes, those magic sponges are abrasive so you have to be careful where you use them. . Never think of using them to clean any type of varnished wood. They peel off the finish very quickly. They work well for me on gloss or semi-gloss paint (like doors), tile, and other hard surfaces. I recently used one to remove a thick streak of dried blood from a painted front door. It needed some cleaning, but the blood was completely gone. I prefer these bulky sponges to branded sponges that have melonite on one side and regular sponge on the other. It's pure melonite everywhere.
