Looks like a genuine Makita part. complete with their packaging (as far as I can tell). Fits the grinder snugly, will have to see how long it lasts. The grinder is about a year old and I use it 8-10 hours a week to the best of my knowledge. So if it takes a year, it's not that bad. dewalt did not come to the store for repair 1 year ago and after that only about 8 months. This grinder is my replacement and I am very happy with it. This is my 3rd grinder this year but I use the grinder quite a bit, the grinder itself works well which is more than my old Dewalt so even if I change the pad a lot (which I did in a year where I had my DW). I'm still happy with Makita
