This is a small device that I carry in my laptop bag. I use it every now and then and enjoy it. USB 3.0 to Micro SD transfer speeds are as expected. Did some tests with 200GB data transfer on Samsung Micro SD 256GB. I can tell you two things. 1. Typical transfer rates sometimes dropped to 300 KB/s and reached 212 MB/s. With average values around 90mb/s. (200GB transfer time took about 35-45 minutes, at least on my computer).2. When he was done, the thing felt hot. I would recommend not using it for more than 5-10 minutes or for quick music/video/photo transfer. Not what I did with my 200GB test. Can I recommend this device? Yes, for file transfers that don't take long when connected to your computer. And no, if you plan on keeping this connected to your always-on PC/device, I wouldn't recommend this device for that. It is normal for devices to get warm, maybe very hot, but not hot to the touch after writing data to a micro SD card. in summary. Yes, use this for a data transfer that takes no more than 10-15 minutes. no if you leave it connected to your device or PC as it will feel hot.
