About 1/4 inch (2mm) clearance between PS5 and hub base. Also, it depends on only about 20% whether an Impulse 3D headset works properly when it is first turned on from sleep mode; To get it working, I usually have to unplug the hub, plug the headset receiver directly into the PS5, and once paired, unplug the receiver and plug in the hub (then plug the receiver back into the hub). I had almost the same issue with my PSVR USB connection when trying to use one of the rear USB ports with a headset and moving the PSVR to the front. Not recommended unless you are using a headset or PSVR and cannot use any of the other hub ports.
