That's exactly what I wanted.

Exactly what I wanted. I needed a waterproof LED light with chips far enough away that they wouldn't drain much of the boat battery. When I used headlamps to land fish, the bugs got thrown in my face. To fix this I wanted to put waterproof tape under my gunwale so I could fish in the dark without bugs in my face. I used 3m of 4200 in 6" increments so the strip would stick permanently. After a month on the water, towing the boat to other lakes and using it everywhere, this is the best modification I've made. See my comments below. - Adhesion: Sticks to attach, but I wouldn't trust adhesion alone for long-term use. Take some contact adhesive and it should stick permanently outdoors. - Waterproof: Very good. Plug for switching the power supply to 12 V DC. I cut off the connector and plugged it directly into the switch/battery - Backlight: It works great for my application. If you look straight at the lights, they look more like a garland of Christmas lights. with interval. I would say they are best used to bounce light off of something. Check out the effects you can see in my photos. I would use them for the bottom of a bar, porch railing, car, gazebo, etc. - Quality: High quality bar. A drop of dielectric grease will do the trick. Efficiency: I connected these bulbs to my starter battery. I regularly fish with them for 4 hours without much impact on the 750cca 12v battery. - Cutting: The strip is clearly marked where you can cut the strip. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with the purchase of these lights. And I only needed 2 out of 3 strings to tie my 16 foot Carolina boat.
