It got very, very hot!
I don't know if they are all like this or if I just got a defective battery. But after sitting in the base charger for a while, it gets so hot that the phone is uncomfortable to hold. Worried and thought it would be safer if I replaced it. I bought a (much more expensive) Ray-o-Vac battery locally to replace and the heat problem went away.
