The battery lasted from 10.2017 to 10.2020. 2.5 year old with 30 minute charge and talk time; 10 minutes of conversation at age 3; resulting in people with a 10 minute battery not answering calls. With this article, plan to (again) change the battery in the same Panasonic phone as it's still great value for money.

I don't know if they are all like this or if I just got a defective battery. But after sitting in the base charger for a while, it gets so hot that the phone is uncomfortable to hold. Worried and thought it would be safer if I replaced it. I bought a (much more expensive) Ray-o-Vac battery locally to replace and the heat problem went away.

This is an unbranded battery but it costs a lot less than the comparable Panasonic battery. It is used in a very old (20+ year old) cordless phone that still works great except the battery needs to be replaced every few years. This Kastar battery might not hold a charge as long as a Panasonic battery and doesn't seem to give as much warning when it's running out of power, but it still gets the job done.
