Every two to three years I have to find/buy new manhole covers. They are always made of cheap transparent plastic that cracks and is difficult to weather. The local hardware store doesn't have them, so a large hardware store is a 30 minute drive away. They also cost between $20 and $35 each. Another problem is that local raccoons like to climb in window wells. So if I don't press on the edges, they move the well covers. I found this Amerimax at Revain and bought one. It doesn't fit perfectly in the fountain, but it's pretty close, definitely good enough. This cover has a deep groove along the edge that needs to be placed on top of the fountain wall. I have an old metal fountain and it's too wide (maybe 3/4" next to the house) to fit perfectly. I checked online and that's the only size Amerimax makes (raccoons) and no need to worry I just ordered another one for the second window well.
