Bought on sale which I think is the best time to buy a smartwatch. It's a good looking watch and adds to the experience as I wanted something that actually looked like a watch as opposed to cheaper smartwatches with silicon straps or something super expensive like the Apple Watch. Also, the beauty of this Fossil watch is that it is compatible with both Android and iPhone (although it works better with Android). The battery life is pretty good, it's not at all like the Amazfit Bip but I can get through the day with energy (around 35-40% depending on what I'm doing). If you want to save battery life, either disable gesture activation or turn off the screen entirely (you can turn it back on just by pressing the crown). There's a good range of watch faces to choose from, including more classic designs (like the one I went for) and fully digital watch faces that show a million different things if that's what you're into. If you don't like the included brown leather strap (and it's a good one), you can swap it out for any 22mm strap compatible with Fossil watches. The disadvantages are as follows: 1. They are slightly more expensive. Admittedly, I carry in my bag a touchscreen computer that can take voice commands for me connected to another computer that not only stays on, but can do things throughout the day that used to do full work on the desktop required. or laptop PC. So it shouldn't surprise anyone that something like this is expensive. But I'm a bit stingy and personally I wouldn't recommend buying smartwatches unless they're on sale.2. A little difficult to read in direct sunlight, but I live in Florida so your mileage may vary.3. The watch charger works fine but mine only came as a USB cable and there was nothing to plug into the wall. The manual for the watch specifically states that the charger is NOT meant to be plugged into a computer or power bank, so I was a bit confused. I ended up getting around this by first plugging it into a Kindle outlet and then into a USB port on my power strip under my bedside table, which works great. Maybe it was supposed to come with an outlet (and I didn't get it because I bought it neatly used), but if mine came as it was supposed to, it's a little odd because I don't in the life of a Fossil charger for these could find things. 4. A small thing, but the watch strap is a bit tight for me judging by the photo. Again, I have very large wrists, so your mileage may vary. However, I will say that I can no longer find the tapes online, so maybe I should check out the Fossil Store? It'd be a bit silly if you ask me, but if that gets me a slightly longer strap, I might as well do it. All in all, if you're buying a smartwatch for the first time and don't want to shell out for a premium Apple Watch and don't want the super cheap at the other end of the spectrum, the Q Explorist is the perfect sweet spot.
