I bought these gloves because I ripped my 3 year old Burtons and am going back to the mountains next weekend. First let me say that I feel these gloves got good reviews because people reviewed them before actually using the gloves. After a day of use they broke in 3 different places. Waterproofing: When I got to the mountain, there was about 4.5 inches of powder on the ground, and a total of 5 inches of snow fell over the course of the day. In total I was on the mountain for 7 hours. These gloves lasted about 3 runs (an hour and a half) before getting wet and once they get wet they are very difficult to put on and take off without pulling out the panels. I've had these gloves hanging for 2 days now and they still haven't dried. Size: I've worn plus size gloves my entire adult life, with no exception before this one. Large is more like medium. It wasn't so tight that I felt uncomfortable or that they would fall apart, it was just a little tighter than I would have liked. To be fair their description says size XL is for men and boys over 15 so they may be opting for a universal adult size which doesn't make much sense to me but I didn't read that until I bought it it's my fault. Summary: If you want a pair of warm gloves that are very soft on the inside and don't need waterproofing these are great but if you bought these ski gloves for skiing you will be very disappointed and wish you saved $20. and put the money in a pair of gloves that will keep your hands dry.
