But it works. Someone has to figure out a better way to make these things stick to the bottom of the tank. I've been using these things on my reptiles for many years. The problem I have is that I tape it up and then check again a few days later and it's hanging out there. So I came up with a plan. If like me you have wooden coasters that you buy at the pet store, they are the right size for your aquarium and have large cutouts between the bottom of the tank and the top of the coaster. This is where the heating pad will fail simply because the heat is heating up the adhesive and the weight of the cable is pulling on it. I still have 12x12 ceramic tiles. I simply trimmed them down to about 8 inches on one side and tucked them under the tank but on top of the heating pad over the tile. That works great. You could probably use something else. I just figured the heat wouldn't affect the ceramic tiles. So it presses the pad directly onto the tank and also conducts heat through the tank instead of just heating the storage space underneath.
