Review on Zojirushi SM SA60 BA Stainless Steel 20 Ounce by Phil Show

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Peelable inner lining

TLDR: This is a non-stick mug, you can purchase the SM-SHE60 SlickSteel version instead. Zojirushi vacuum mugs are really great for keeping drinks hot or cold longer than any other vacuums I've used. After 6 months of daily use, the non-stick coating in my SM-SC60HM mug started blistering and peeling off. Two types with different lighting are attached. Nothing hotter than boiling water has ever been poured into the mug, never washed in the dishwasher, and never rubbed with anything abrasive. Zojirushi responded to a request sent to their support site within 24 hours. The answer is also attached. They refused to do anything about it, stating that the only thing guaranteed was thermal performance, the mug will continue to perform as expected, and that the nonstick coating is FDA safe. Safe or not, I'd rather not have parts of the plating floating around or being swallowed. Zojirushi makes the same mug with a SlickSteel finish and I recommend this version over the coated version. My 16 ounce SlickSteel mug has worked great for over five years, even with daily use. Cleaning Tip: To remove tea and coffee stains, put a teaspoon or two of OxiClean Stain Remover in the bottom of a mug and pour boiling water over it. . It will foam and overflow, be careful. Leave on for a few minutes and rinse off. After that, mine looks like new, no need to clean it. You can take the lid off and put the pieces in a bowl or jar of OxiClean and pour boiling water over them, let sit for a few minutes and rinse, same effect.
