If you've ever had a cat you know how frustrating it is to have an open cup of water next to you. They put their paws, muzzle, tail inside. for an animal that hates water, they are obsessed with water cups. Well, my little asshole was chewing on a straw from my favorite lidded cup in the middle of the night and the water tasted funny. I thought something was wrong with the pipes and even called the repairmen and caught them red handed one night. So I asked for solutions and someone showed them to me. Because of the way the cap covers the straw, it can't get to it. She can't push the button because it takes more force to move the locking slide than she can handle. Oh, she tried! But she can't grab him without knocking him over. I laugh, she gets upset. This is a win for me! I haven't had it that long but I really like it and look forward to continuing to use it. Easy to Clean: Pretty good for a water bottle. The wide opening is a boon for a bottle cleaning brush that it fits. The straw is wide enough to clean straws, although I don't usually wash the cap as I only ever use it for water. Disadvantages: insulating properties -5. Ice cubes melt instantly. They will keep longer in an open plastic cup. But that's actually not a problem for me specifically since I basically just want to keep the trash paws out of the water.
