Review on 🔧 Aftermarket Black DEPO 315-50002-000 Tailgate Handle Replacement (Not Manufactured or Sold by the Original Equipment Car Company) by Sean Tops

This handle does not appear to fit. While the assembly fits perfectly into the socket, the spring mechanism is slightly taller than the original version, causing the latch bars to rub against the tailgate's inner metal. Also, the pull handle does not fully retract the liftgate tabs, causing it to bind when the liftgate is raised, even when the handle is fully retracted. This forces you to push harder on the tailgate to close it (to fit the tabs into their slots), despite pulling them in far enough to allow the tailgate to open. Other differences from the OE include a soft plastic spacer that runs between the handle assembly and the tailgate bushing; The hinges appear to be of better quality and the plastic pull rods are more durable. It still has the plastic post holding the spring, which is the point of failure with the last two tailgate latches I've had. While I was expecting a plastic frame and would like to see how long it lasts compared to my last two (see my other review), I don't see a way to maintain this due to the metal on metal friction caused by the two issues I mentioned above have discussed. I will replace it with a stainless steel version from another manufacturer to avoid further problems.
