This is the third time I have had to replace the left fan in my 2011 17" MacBook Pro, the first time for the right fan. These fans are very quiet compared to the original and previous ones Replacement units. As other replacement units have been the result of noisy squeaking bearings I have high hopes for these Padarsey maglev units but for the price if I get a few years of them it will be a good investment given their reasonable cost. Use both fans while having your case open and exposing both. Full instructions on how to replace these fans with new ones are available online. You'll need a few (inexpensive) tools and reasonably good eyesight, I suggest at least watching a video of the process on YouTube //www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-PQAVxSSr4> before starting yourself in case you have not done so yet. It's better not to start a replacement than to be stopped halfway because you don't see what to do or if you break something.
