Failed to load media. This sharpening stone set is very good and perfect for beginners. The 400 grit stone is very hard and is suitable for material removal and edge finishing. In the photos I have converted a badly damaged vegetable cutter. Although I originally used a diamond sharpener, I used 1000, 3000, and 8000 grit stones to sharpen it to razor sharpness and give it a high gloss finish. Most professional knife sharpeners will say that an angle guide is optional, but if you're a beginner like me, maintaining a consistent angle really helps and gives you more confidence as you cut newspaper with ease. The leather strap and compound is also a big plus!
