First of all, if this review is for a 35 x 50 x 0 1-1/8, this stem works great with aluminum or carbon fiber handlebars. Another reviewer says the four-bolt design will damage the carbon fiber bars. That's totally wrong. If you look closely at the one-piece faceplate, you'll see that the inner contact area with the bars extends further than where the studs are. I have a 35x50x0 stem and this 35x35x0 stem on Yeti 760 carbon bars and have had 1-2+ hour rides and withstood as much stress as I could send. No problem. The other Atlas stem is on my wife's Stumpjumper Pro, which has RaceFace Next carbon bars. This rod is suitable for all rods with a diameter of 35 mm. After seeing this post, I consulted my mobile professional mechanic and he agreed that "not wrong for carbon fiber handlebars". This stem looks great and the contour lines match the Atlas pedals perfectly. I've had an outlet once or twice and the stem has stayed true, no problem. The design holds 35mm clamp bars very well and has handy markings/indicators to show the degree you are adjusting the bars: 6, 3, 0, -3, -6. This is a nice extra feature that the Turbine-R, Turbine or Affect stems don't have. In addition, the four bolts on the front panel are self-locking bolts for added security. This is a very good strain and comes highly recommended. (New Bike Takeoffs, Turbine-R and Affect) In the late 90's, early 00's I had a RaceFace stem with a similar design to the Affect, two separate vertical clamps. One failed a hard landing with a big drop and I had a bad accident. So a complete Atlas faceplate was purchased to replace the Affect on my Yeti before I rode it. The Atlas stem weighs a little more but has a lot more bar contact to clamp and gave me more confidence when throwing hard. Highly recommended. Pros: Everything you could want in a stem. Cons: Weight bangers are bothered by grams compared to other stems.
