Review on Keyless2Go 80 Bit Transponder Ignition Car Key H92 H84 H85 Uncut Replacement (2 Pack) by John Snook

Great if you have two original keys

I only have one original key for a 2002 Mazda B3000 pickup, so I couldn't program a new key using the two original key method. But I have a MINI900 key cloner that can clone transponder keys for any of my machines. Because these keys are 80-bit (marked "SA" on the blade) compared to 40-bit for my original Mazda key (marked "S" on the blade), I was unable to clone them using the MINI900. I ended up buying a 4D/63 40-bit transponder chip ($2) and cloned my original key onto this chip using a MINI900. The new cloned key works great. If you have two original keys, these 80-bit keys are backward compatible with the original 40-bit keys and should work fine. If you only have one key, only a locksmith, dealer, or cloner can program another key. For me the $150 for the cloner was worth it as I have four different cars, two of which cannot be made without a dealer or locksmith no matter how many original keys you have. When I tried to cut the keys, Ace Hardware couldn't do it alone. Another cut my blanks with no problem and they didn't even charge me. UPDATE: If you only have one key, you can still program another key yourself (without a cloner). All you need is a laptop, the free Forscan software available on the Forscan website and an ELM327. The Forscan software works with Bluetooth elm327, so there is no need for a cable connection between the laptop and the OBD2 socket in the car. Bluetooth elm327 can be purchased from $5. The Forscan software requires you to register on their forum to get a license code, but it's free. To use the software's PATS (Passive Anti-Theft System) feature to add new keys, you must request a free extended license from the Forscan website. It is valid for 2 months and can be renewed every two months free of charge. There are Ford/Mazda forums dedicated to Forscan with the PATS feature.
