I knew I had to replace my 30 year old push handle when trying to open it the handle fell off and landed on my pinky finger. When I tried to reinstall it I found that the threads were removed so it was not possible. I bought this pen based on the positive reviews but had absolutely no idea what I was doing other than the fact that the screw hole spacing was correct. When the item arrived I couldn't believe how easy it was to install. I didn't even look at the instructions. My door is only 1 inch thick so I chose the shortest screws (there are three lengths). Handle and latch are easy to adjust for left or right hand door. The setup feels solid and heavy. I like that the grips are a good size for easy gripping, unlike my previous set which was mostly just finger grips. My door opens effortlessly but is light, so my experience may differ from someone pulling newer, heavier doors. In general I am very satisfied. My pinky is now safe from another attack, the grip works well and is attractive. I had to deduct a star because the outside handle had noticeable paint chips in two places. I'm not sure how that could have happened when the set arrived so carefully packaged other than when it arrived at the factory. I didn't want to bother with sending the device back and since it's on the outside it doesn't bother me too much. But just be aware that it can happen
