Perfect fit for 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited V8.

These parts work great! I no longer get hit in the head by a tailgate that won't stay on (especially in cold weather). Installation was incredibly easy. Or at least it should have been easy. The screws that hold the original parts together have torx heads and I didn't have the right heads so I just used the best hex head in my toolbox. This worked for three of the four screws (two per rack), but I ended up removing the last one. After a lot of swearing and throwing/kicking I went in and ordered Anytime Tools 11 Piece FEMALE E-TORX (Star) SOCKET Set w/RAIL E4 - E20 for $20 and waited a few more days. Although the head of the screw was seemingly damaged beyond repair (of course enough that regular hex sockets wouldn't hold), I hit the torx head against the head of the screw with a hammer and was able to pull it out fairly easily. I highly recommend anyone purchasing these stands also purchase matching power outlets (if you don't already have one). With the right tools (and a good friend or 2x4 to hold up the heavy tailgate while you swap out the old racks), the full swap should take less than 15 minutes. Incidentally, these racks come with separate ball joint screws to which the bottom end of the rack attaches. They looked exactly like the balls I had already installed so I threw them away and just reused the originals. Why the extra unnecessary work of replacing good parts? Also, do not touch the metal spring at the bottom of the (new) posts. Just leave it where it is and snap everything onto the ball. Very simple.
