ELMB SYNC ruins everything!

This monitor is perfect for gaming. Response times are fast, colors are decent, and brightness is surprisingly good for a TN panel. At a frequency of 240 Hz, G-Sync works perfectly with the right settings (Vertical Sync enabled and in-game frame limiter set to 237 frames per second). There is surprisingly little ghosting and no noticeable input lag. Now it gets complicated and frustrating. Never, I mean never, enable ELMB SYNC. It messes something up with G-Sync, resulting in an intolerable input lag associated with V-Sync. In the Nvidia driver it changes the display scaling to GPU scaling and after I disabled ELMB SYNC nothing could fix G-sync and input lag except resetting all Nvidia settings to default. Literally nothing was changed to the 3D settings, but the screen still had to be cycled for any fix changes to take effect! and it doesn't look smooth at all. Finally, when ELMB SYNC is on and you have to restart your computer, I swear the monitor boots up at 144Hz half the time with no immediate fix. If you buy this monitor, great. This is an amazing car. Do you regularly get over 240fps? Enjoy ELMB regularly throughout the day. Getting different frames per second under 240? Use G sync. However, do not activate ELMB SYNC. Unless you want a headache. I only give it 3 stars because I wasted many hours to make it work well. Otherwise it's perfect.

Pros
  • 11.24 pounds
Cons
  • Low Brightness: If the monitor's brightness is set too low, the image may appear washed out or too dark.
