I bought this hat not so much for fashion, but to keep the sun off of me while gardening - at least so far as a hat can help, (without making it some kind of beekeeper's mask). It works for that, providing lots of coverage. It also keeps bugs from getting on me easily when I'm working around taller plants. It's comfortable enough that I don't really notice it, and can wear it over my headphones without any problem at all, which was a major concern for me, as I listen to books while gardening.I wore it to the beach/boardwalk one day & the drawstring chin strap helped quite a bit with keeping the breeze from stealing it away - though I did hold onto it when the wind kicked up enough to be annoying. I also like the wire in the brim to shape it. I don't know if it's attractive in any way - I kind of feel like a dork in it, but when I do yard work, I probably already look like a dork with my utilitarian grungy attire.
