The problem with this heater is the very short cord. The cable to the outlet should have enough slack to allow the entire cable for the drip line to hang down in the event of condensation/moisture. The cable is so short that it has almost nothing to do with it. Our tank is a 15 gallon vertical tank and that cord barely reaches the outlet leaving nothing to hang down - you may have better luck with a horizontal tank but it's still best to have it very close to the to have outlet. The cord is approximately 4 feet long, it would be helpful to state this in the product information.
