I rarely write reviews but I found this product so good and exceeded my expectations that I thought the manufacturer deserved some credit. I was looking for a replacement for the Snowball Blue and found it to be good but poorly designed with a heavy top and an almost useless and cumbersome stand. The UHURU kit is really well thought out and affordable. Everything is well machined from high tolerance metal and fits together with a satisfying click. The swing arm works great and keeps the mic where you put it (there are thumbscrews to keep it in place, too). I use it seated at a desk where you can place it in the perfect position for reading a script, or it can be positioned up to 5ft 6in if you prefer to stand. The shock mount is well designed and elegantly adjustable to the microphone. And the microphone? - It's solidly built and surprisingly good with wide dynamic range. I ran a series of tests with the mic in different positions, distance input settings, etc. and was amazed at the quality. I've used it for voice recording tracks directly on FCPX and Garage Band and the results have been very satisfying. I have tested the pop screen and wind cap and they both work as intended. The value is superb - can't believe these guys can sell this for like $50. Amazing price. This review probably reads as if I'm an employee of the manufacturer, but I'm not, just a happy buyer who likes to find a good deal every now and then.
