I switched from a very cheap set at Walmart and I don't regret it at all! They do the job perfectly, are ergonomic and comfortable! Packed in two sizes as possible. Check out my photos, they have a relatively good range when open and are very easy to "unlock" by simply pressing the ring on a nearby counter. (You can see on a picture where the ring is when the pliers are in the locked/unlocked position.) My only caveat is that locking them is no easier than pulling on the ring. If you have dirty hands in the kitchen, it's easy to get your ring dirty trying to pull it out to fasten it. Dealing with the items you collect. A small but very useful detail! These aren't the highest quality pliers you'll find, but for the price, I don't think you'll find a better set!
