I needed new BBQ tongs so I ordered a pair from Dragonn. I tried them the first night and found them to work very well. I especially like that they lock in the closed position when not in use, which saves a lot of storage space. It is recommended to have two tongs, one for raw food and one for final removal, to avoid possible contamination. I would have preferred two large pliers, but they're great.

Don't worry if you really cook. They failed after two years of normal use. First the rubber pads collapsed, then the locking and hinge mechanism collapsed completely. Maybe two years seems a long time and I'd be too harsh, but be aware that the tongs I bought from a restaurant store over a decade ago have the simplest slip-lock mechanism and not all of the handles have been in service since almost 15 years. I was initially very happy with the pliers set, they seemed reliable and worked as expected. However then I noticed that the spring was starting to rust, I tried using WD 40 on the spring but every time we washed the pliers after use the rust returned. At some point the spring rusted out and the pliers became unusable. I cannot recommend this product until the manufacturer replaces the carbon steel spring with stainless steel.

Updated. These pliers are broken. Both. The rivets holding them together have come out of the holes. The spring is also rusted. My old pliers finally broke due to corrosion. I needed something fast and decided to get it. Was very satisfied as they arrived quickly and appear to be well made. They're heavier than expected and the end of the tongue seems to be made out of quite a thick material. I am very happy with my purchase, I hope it lasts a long time.

I've had these tongs for a few years now (decided to check my Amazon purchase history and the products I like) and they are a staple for me. They're all metal, so you don't have to worry about the temperature in the pan while you're cooking. The long tongs are also ideal for frying. I switched from a very cheap set at Walmart and I don't regret it at all! They do the job perfectly, are ergonomic and comfortable! Packed in two sizes as possible. Check out my photos, they have a relatively good range when open and are very easy to "unlock" by simply pressing the ring on a nearby counter.
