Perfect thread repair for stripped aluminum head bolt holes
2000 Honda Accord V6 J30A1 I was able to get the threads out of two holes in the aluminum head by tightening the valve cover. I sighed miserably and accepted the reprieve. HeliCoil will ALWAYS save your bacon in these situations. Of course, after a negligible hour of delay with this kit, I rethreaded both holes and bolted the valve cover securely into place. A 100% thread repair requires ONLY drilling a hole up to the insertion depth of the HeliCoil PLUS, an additional 2mm. In the automotive industry in particular, short-shank drills save lives because there is simply not much space left for the repair tools.
