These switches were used exclusively when working on boats. IMHO in a marine environment, wire connections need to be soldered and lightly covered with anti-corrosive. The last step is covering with heat shrink tubing with glue. After so much work with connections, it's probably not worth saving a dollar on the switch itself. Blue Sea sells rubber and brass screws on the lid to secure the switch if you're in a really foggy area.
