Review on Dell S2721QS Ultra Thin DisplayPort Certified Pivot Adjustment, Curved, High Dynamic Range, Tilt Adjustment, HD by Wess Carstensen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Cheap 4K monitor

The first one that showed up was obviously used/returnable and broke right out of the box. There was a terrible sheen and a reddish tint. Blame it on Revane, not Dell. The replacement was brand new and worked great. You only get a 60Hz refresh rate for this price, and that's exactly what it is. I wish it had a higher refresh rate, maybe 75Hz would be nice, but then again the competition here is also only 60Hz so that's not really a complaint. Also, a GPU powerful enough for today's 4K gaming is expensive. So if you can afford a graphics card that can play games at high refresh rates in 4K, you're probably willing to pay three times more for a monitor. Always liked Dell monitors, this one essentially replaces two Dell 1080P monitors. Like all other Dell monitors I've bought, this one had no dead or stuck pixels. It offers high build quality with a fully adjustable stand that can be rotated and raised/lowered - something some competing monitors lack. My only concern is that they need to include a DisplayPort cable in addition to the HDMI cable. So I'm deducting a star. You might think this is difficult, but some of the competing monitors include a DP cable so Dell can do that too.
