These are soy based candles. They have a very strong odor, but they are not concentrated enough to cause a headache. My friend's mother loves candles and usually uses them after cooking to get rid of the curry smell in the kitchen. These candles work wonders and she has lived through three and uses them often. I think the only downside is that they are small, I might try looking for bigger ones and buying them again. But the good thing is that there are two of them. of every scent, so she still has every scent. I think bergamot is my favorite, although MIL loves lemon and jasmine. I definitely recommend them, especially at this price point. And soy candles are a win-win, they last longer, are eco-friendly and have a stronger smell.
