I purchased other hubs that cost less and had to return them as they did not work with the Surface 4 laptop. My goal was to use a 2nd monitor and this hub allowed the monitor to work. There were no issues with this hub as it was operating as soon as the USB-C connection was made. The indicator light provided reassurance that the hub was receiving inputs so there was no second guessing if the hub or connection cables prevented signals from being sent.Update Oct 3, 2022 - I purchased a different USB-C docking station that worked well if I only wanted to use 1 additional monitor with my Surface 4 laptop. However, the other USB-C docking station did not support the use of 2 additional monitors while the Novoo USB-C docking station was able to do so. I ended up purchasing a 2nd Novoo USB-C docking station because it can handle 2 additional monitors.
