Review on π ACDelco D8055 Professional Engine Oil Level Sensor by Ryan Person
I removed the low oil warning light
I have a '99 Camaro V-8 that showed a low oil warning even though the oil level was not low. I assumed it was a bad sensor and bought a replacement which I installed at my next oil change (note that you don't change it unless you get the oil under the sensor or you have a Confused). ) The sensor did not work right away, but after a few hours the apparently loose part moved into place and the oil level indicator went out. Don't think it won't work if the oil level light doesn't go off within a day or so.
