If your axle won't snap try this
When the axle wouldn't come loose from my hub to replace a wheel bearing with repeated hits, I bought this. Unlike the smaller versions you can pick up at auto parts stores, this thing is a behemoth. When I attached it to the hub, the pin pressing on the axle generated quite a bit of force when tightened. It only took two hits with a small sledgehammer on the end of the tightened bolt to loosen the axle. If you're dealing with an axis that just won't move, this tool is definitely worth trying. What may take hours to loosen may only take minutes with this tool.
