With this model you can control the exact humidity via app. You NEED the app to work perfectly, but it also has a manual mode. The humidifier is NOT very quiet (my old one was definitely better) but it doesn't bother me much and I'm more sensitive to noise. If it bothers me, I just tell Alexa to turn it off even in the middle of the night. It's so great to be able to control it like that. The humidity slider might not be very accurate (high), but you can manually set it to what you want and you can tell Alexa to adjust the humidity. The app is easy to program and I set it to turn on and off at night. in AM so I don't forget. There's even a reminder to change the water weekly. In general, this thing is EXCELLENT for my purposes. I am very happy with it. I have a small three-legged plant stand on Amazon that I can set up so it doesn't fall off the floor. Do not get the floor wet when using the stand. The water evaporates before it reaches the carpet.
