Review on Floor standing speaker system IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Monitor 2 speakers black by Adam Konowski ᠌

Impressions from the purchase are good, buy.

I read reviews for a long time and decided to take a chance. As a result, they sound good: they really feel like larger monitors, but mainly due to the bottom, which starts from 50Hz. Nevertheless, if you want to voice a party, this is not your option, not because the volume is not enough (you can just turn up the volume quite a lot without audible distortion), but because they sound optimally when you sit right in front of them at a distance of a meter or two, you move a little to the side and the sound changes quite a lot (the highs disappear). Also, after the reviews, you should not have too many illusions about the bottom - before buying, I thought that 50Hz is enough for a full-fledged scoring of any music, and everything below is more "felt" than audible, in fact it turned out that the lower notes in some bass parts it is simply not audible, and even the bass, which is above 50 Hz, is voiced quite specifically, like a not very intelligible rumble. However, if you listen to non-aggressive/non-dance genres more often, it will probably suit you. Another of the features is not the best bluetooth codec, at least in conjunction with my phone (Pixel 3a / android) - for the first time in an audio device I hear the difference between bluetooth and sound over the wire (with bluetooth there is a lot of sand at high, and all of a sudden everything is clear over the wire ). The biggest problem in my case came from where they didn’t wait: the monitors are quite noticeably noisy (they emit constant quiet white noise) when idle, even when nothing is connected to them. At the same time, there are no such problems with a household bluetooth speaker, or with the built-in speakers of my monitor. I don’t know if this is a problem with my copy or a feature of the model, but if you plan to keep them turned on all the time as computer speakers and sit in silence between watching YouTube videos and listening to music, you may be disappointed. As a result, I decided to hand over and try to order another copy, in the hope that the noise problem will be solved. The rest of the monitors are good, with limited space on the table I recommend.

Pros
  • - Detailed, balanced sound with good bass for their size - Tiny, take up little space on the table; - Qualitatively assembled in appearance, there are no easily scratched glossy panels, the body material looks wear-resistant.
Cons
  • - They emit a noticeable noise in idle, well audible in a quiet room, sitting in front of monitors; - There is a little lack of "volume" in the sound. I don’t know if this is due to the linear frequency response (perhaps this subjective sense of volume is associated with the u-shaped frequency response on household systems), but nevertheless, when you listen with your eyes closed, the feeling is not very large speakers in front of you; - The bass is quite specific, not very clear and without the lowest notes in the bass parts, more like bass from modern bluetooth speakers. This is not a replacement for 8" monitors, let alone monitors with a subwoofer, but given the small size, they can impress. - The highest quality sound only in the near field right in front of the monitors; - Noticeable distortion at high frequencies when connected via bluetooth (neither with bose qc35 and sennheiser momentum tws 2 bluetooth headphones, nor with a bose soundlink III household speaker, there are no such problems); - There is no headphone output and the volume control is located on the rear panel, which is less convenient compared to some home systems. - Proprietary cable connecting left and right speakers. It is unlikely that there will be a replacement for loss or failure (although the cable is very thick and inspires confidence).
