Great sound and quality at a good price

Performance: There are those who say the air intake is a performance mod that gives you power and torque. And even K&N gives you a small printout of intake torque. The intake gives you a better feeling of acceleration and is a great starter mod for a turbocharged car. After installation I felt a slight difference, but I wouldn't say it could be quantified on a dyno. The reason you buy this particular air intake is to hear your turbo and some more engine noise. It feels so good to be in 5th or 6th gear at 2-3k RPM, press and release the gas pedal for a second to hear that sweet whistle! CAI claims: K&N positions it as cold air. I would not agree. There's real cold air for 10th generation folks like PRL. They suck in air under the engine compartment. It sits almost exactly where the factory box was, so we can't, coincidentally, call it a short ram either. I would just call it a good aftermarket solution, not as good as real cold air. Installation: Installing this air intake was a simple task. The instructions were pretty straightforward and I installed it in under an hour while talking to people around me. Overall: I would say this product is well worth it if you plan to create more performance mods in the future or if you want a quick and easy way to hear your turbo. It has the usual good quality from K&N and looks pretty cool in the engine bay. Every time I drive it I get more and more joy as increasing the throttle rewards you with sweet turbo sounds!

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
