The product has rust in the box. I have nuts for 13 and 14 mm. Due to deformation of the plastic, carriage bolts had to be screwed in. The gasket that runs under the crossbar attachment had to be stretched to fit. I haven't even used them yet, but I don't think they will last very long. Nice design but no quality control. If you're using a thin OEM crossbar, you'll probably need to cut some length off the carriage bolts, like I did. UPDATE: After my second kayak trip, I noticed rust running down the car. The car is in a garage. I ended up removing them. I have found that the screws are now rusting and the pipes are dripping. I disassembled the uprights and used a can of liquid foil to coat everything to prevent further rusting.
