DO NOT machine wash - Disappointed

I've spent a lot of time looking for a new blanket both in stores and online. I chose this one, it's exactly what I was looking for in terms of colour, pattern and size. Good - the size is great for a king bed. Many king-size comforters are too small to adequately cover the sides of the mattress, as has been the case. It's soft and it's warm. Bad - there were some bad creases in the bag but that's to be expected. After unpacking, they usually work by themselves. This one didn't. However, I loved it in every other way and thought it would dissipate after washing. I decided to wash it today ACCORDING TO LABEL INSTRUCTIONS. I have a large, paddleless washer that brings tears to my eyes, and I have a large dryer. The photos show what it looked like when I got it out of the dryer. EXTREMELY crumpled (1st pic), has a hole (2nd pic) and looks like it's burned in places (3rd pic), hard to see in the pic, but the right side is now tinted yellow and shining "Plastic"" and the reverse side is whiter and softer. This should not be called machine wash and dry. I am extremely disappointed. Keep looking if you never plan on washing your duvet.
