This projector offers good value for money but lacks some of the finer controls and build quality of established brands. We've used it a few times this summer, mostly for watching movies in the backyard. It's bright enough to start a movie at dusk and certainly a lot better in the dark. Don't expect it to compete with sunlight (no projector can), so don't use it outdoors during the day unless it's in a well-lit, dark area. It can automatically detect the source if there is only one, making it plug and play. It only has one height adjustable leg that works, but you need to make sure it's on a really stable surface. It's not a very big projector but for its size I expected at least 2 adjustable feet for stability and tilt adjustment. The projector lags a bit behind when it comes to image construction. It only has vertical keystone correction and basic color, brightness, and contrast adjustments. The video quality is fine for watching movies in the backyard, but I've seen better quality from more expensive projectors. Another positive aspect of the video is that you can switch the output for ceiling mounting or rear projection. In terms of audio, the speakers are only adequate if you're within 5 feet or so. I think you can go further if it's just about music, but that's not enough, to hear movie dialogue. I use an external speaker when watching movies. Finally, when it comes to build quality it doesn't feel very solid and the parts and body feel flimsy. Obviously this adds to less weight but I just have a feeling it could easily break. The lens adjustment can sometimes get stuck and the first HDMI input no longer works after just a few films. Overall, the projector is good enough for my purpose and the price can't be beat. However, I'm still unsure about the build quality (fingers crossed it will last), and if you want more precise video controls, look elsewhere. it doesn't feel very solid and the parts and case feel flimsy.
