I've been looking for a new office/studio chair for about a month. After much research, I have kept coming back to the Herman Miller Aeron. It seems to be at the top of everyone's list, but little did I know it came with a $1,500 price tag. I found this chair in a review somewhere on YouTube and was intrigued. I ordered this chair despite having bought the Staples mesh chair with good reviews. Once received and assembled, I returned my Staples chair within an hour of sitting in it. A few months later I had my seat replaced after looking through the extensive contact list on the MFG website. At first I started hearing a metallic noise as the weight shifted into the seat, which was just unbearable. The employee was very nice and sent me a new seat. The first replacement was defective and had a gap. The second was ok. The representative asked me if the noise was metallic or if it was creaking wood. Everything was fine at first until after 2 weeks I heard a loud creaking of wood when I moved the weight in the chair. These seem to be known issues and they haven't worked exactly. Still VERY handy so I'll live with it until I find a better solution. The overall comfort is phenomenal. Helps keep you in an ergonomic position, has many adjustments for a chair in this price range (including seat depth adjustment) that most models in this price range don't have. Comfort is AMAZING. When they looked at a review on YouTube, they compared LOTS of office chairs in different price ranges, but this one had the highest comfort rating (including Herman Miller & Steelcase). The only thing missing here is an adjustable lumbar support system, although I feel like they hit the spot where they decided to place a lumbar support (built into the backrest). I understand that when you work in an office with a large number of employees, you need a chair that can serve from person to person and cater to their specific comfort preferences. If you are setting up a home office, you will definitely need this chair. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that it lacks an adjustable lumbar support system. Also, I'm 5'9' and this chair just fits PERFECTLY. If you are taller than 6 inches I can see this chair might be an issue for you. Just because I have the max seat depth (personal preference) and this is a comfortable seat for me. Just so you know, I spend an average of 8-10 hours a day, Monday through Sunday, at my desk and my back never feels tired sitting in this chair. If you don't want to spend a premium on a $800+ chair, this is a solid choice. Everything was super easy to put together. I'm a graphic designer and music producer and if you're looking for the best value for money you've come to the right place.
