I only use it to seal the window seams in my rented apartment in winter as an alternative to using plastic film on the windows. I can still see the outside and it's easy to apply after cleaning the area with rubbing alcohol and toning in late spring. This is a lot better than using plastic sheeting and a lot less work. I also painted over the edges of the tops of the gray stone windows, which also reduced cold air infiltration. I don't plan on moving anytime soon, but I'm doing my best to keep my vintage apartment comfortable.
