Review on EZ-103 EZ Oil Drain Valve: Simplify Oil Changes for Seamless Maintenance by Eric Currie

Revainrating 4 out of 5

More excited to get it than to use it.

I was glad to get this at first but I've found that it makes oil changes a bit easier and cleaner, but it really only saves me a 14mm socket. I still need a container to catch the oil, I still need to get under the truck, I still need to recycle the oil, I can get my hand out of the way faster than before. This doesn't relieve me of the need to change the oil filter or clean the leaking oil. This saves me from having to change the gasket, but it kills the magnet I put in the drain plug and can't put a magnet on it. It does everything it says on the tin but they must have great publicity because it saves about two minutes of time but prevents the unlikely removal of drain pipe threads. I mean the statements are 100% true they weren't lying at all but it's just one of those things where you get a lot more excited when you get it and think you need it but aren't excited when you use it . It's not a bad product at all, but really, unless you have a hard-to-reach plug and don't need a hose to connect to it, it's actually at least comparable to a popcorn button on a microwave compared to manually inputting it. At the time, you still have to Grab popcorn, microwave, press the popcorn button or type "2:15", wait for it to cook, remove and wash. All the things you don't want to do you still have to do, that's really the easy part and the oil change is done, but there's nothing you don't really enjoy doing. I'll say it's easier to take an oil sample, but I don't have to do anything to get hit by my truck. I used to use a manual oil pump or siphon with an aquarium hose, but that saves me quite a bit of time too. I'm glad I have it? Something like. Do I regret my purchase? Not much, but if it was like $10-15 instead of $30 I wouldn't have it. Does an oil change make it easier? A little easier? Did they lie at all? no Was I excited to buy it? Yes. Did I get all the benefits I envisioned? no Do you have to do the same amount of work if you don't buy this? Yes. Is it sold correctly? It would anyway. have i been played Not really. Will I buy it for other cars? Probably no. but it's actually not all that badly made and saves about as much time as using a fork instead of a spoon and fork. So brilliantly made with quality and pride but what I really appreciate and think is necessary would be something that makes it easy to change the filter on a first generation Toyota Tacoma. Because the real problem is taking the skid plate off or skipping it over and spilling oil on it, leaving less room to work. If they can, I'd happily pay $30 for it, maybe double that. However, with this article you really just have to take the socket wrench out of the equation, everything is the same.
