The door does what it is supposed to do, closes the Girard oven. The door itself is made of fairly thin sheet metal and bends easily. The locking mechanism is a bit wonky, especially if you want to remove it to paint the door or change the latch. There is a very small coil spring that must be removed from a very small channel in the latch to physically remove the latch assembly. The body shop that painted the door took longer to reinstall the latch than it did to prepare and paint the door themselves. Also, the lock does not close the door securely, it rattles in the frame when closing. I had to use an extra screw to secure the door. In addition, the internal mounting holes in the frame that are used to attach the frame to the Girard heater and RV frame are located very close to the front edge of the frame. They were virtually useless on my Winnebago as the mounting bolts would damage the fiberglass body instead of screwing into the van's frame. I am very happy with the Girard heater but not very happy with the overall design and quality of the door. Girard can do better.
