Good torque wrench: Wrench

I've only used it a couple of times but I like it so far. It's less than I thought. Takes up much less space than a torque wrench. The storage box measures approximately 5 x 4 x 2.25 inches. The torque adapter is approximately 2" in each direction with a 1/2" square drive on one end and a socket on the other. The instructions are good enough to get you started. , in English only, and it's easy to understand what's being said. Leaves you some things to figure out eg. B. How to display torque without beeps and lights. The torque can be set and read in kg/cm, kg/m, ft/ft lb, in/lb and N/m. Requires a CR2032 battery to operate which is included which for some reason was a little tricky to put back in. The adapter goes into sleep mode after three minutes of inactivity. on backlight for LED display. The display can be flipped at the press of a button, so you don't have to read it upside down. Press and hold the MODE button for two seconds to turn off/on the device. The instruction manual states an accuracy of +/- 2%. The adapter can be configured to display applied torque, hold maximum torque, or display when the application is approaching the specified torque. Up to ten torque settings can be preset, so you don't have to constantly enter commonly used torques, although it's easy to do. Pressing a button scrolls through the preset torques. When within 70% of the selected preset torque, a beep will sound and the red LED will begin flashing. The frequency of this beep and flash increases as the target torque is reached until both beeps become constant when the target torque is reached. The torque range is 30-150 ft/lb, but I entered 175 in/lb as the default, around 14.5 ft/lb, and it seems to work with no problems. Checked with a torque wrench. One year adapter warranty. There are no moving parts. Just a load cell, an LED and any electronics to convert the load cell reading into an output LED display. The plastic case looks high quality. Treat it like a precision gauge and it looks like it should last.

Pros
  • Blow-out storage case
Cons
  • Insecure
