Review on Bushnell Velocity Speed Gun: Accurate and Stylish in Black by Jermaine Shuster

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The best weapon for beginners when learning speed and agility

Find out what kind of gun it is before you buy it. If you're looking for a radar that lets you sit in row 30 of a shop front and get accurate numbers, this is NOT your weapon. This weapon is not for the professional scout or for those who require chronograph-level accuracy. At the same time he does his job for 90 dollars. As the owner of both this and the Pocket Radar Ball Coach I can attest that this gun has +/- 3 mph with the Pocket Radar provided accurate aiming is used. The range isn't great, but standing directly behind the thrower and being able to lean slightly into the plane of the ball will give you accurate readings most of the time. If you skip you will know how good the read will be. A smart hit is where you'll run into the most problems. When trying to measure the speed of the ball leaving the tee, you need to get on your knees and point the gun slightly up so that the gun is in line with where the ball was hit. The battery lasts a long time and there is no learning interface, just aim and pull the trigger. The weapon is sturdy and doesn't look like it will break if you hold it wrong. Overall this is a great starter pistol and whether you are buying it for your touring team, personal use or just for fun it will get the job done.
