I bought this blanket for my thirteen year old son who suffers from anxiety and depression. I've read a number of articles about how these blankets can help people naturally increase their serotonin levels (deep pressure touch is like an all night hug). At first he didn't even want to try it, but I asked him to try at least for one night. The next morning he was sound asleep under the covers, and when I asked him about it, he said he liked it "good". Now, a week later, he says he's enjoying it immensely, and while it seems early to say, his mood has generally improved. I chose this duvet after considering several options. I liked that the squares on this blanket are smaller which allows for a more even weight distribution. The material is nice too. Very high quality. We bought the size 15 pounds and 48 x 72 inches. It's a few inches smaller in actual size (maybe it's the final size with the duvet cover included), but it's perfect for a teenager in a double bed. He's dark gray so I haven't even bought a blanket yet because it already looks good in his room. From what I understand you don't want it to be too big as then there will be less weight on your body as the weights are evenly distributed across the body. The third day after we started trying this weighted blanket, I bought a second one. to try and use it for the first time last night. I have to say I really enjoyed it. I can buy more for family and friends. Highly recommended.
