Roll to Roll Mismatch

I ordered two rolls to seal the vapor barrier under a vinyl plank floor. The first roll was difficult to unroll, and each foot or so began to split in half. Because it was difficult to insert, it expanded and then contracted after being applied to the plastic, causing ripples throughout the barrier and making the substrate difficult to level. The second roll had none of these problems, unrolled and flattened out smoothly. Both adhere well (difficult to peel off). Individually, I would give the first litter one star and the second four.
